The Clock HouseThanet Council has terminated the lease of the East Kent Maritime Trust on Ramsgate’s historic Clock House Museum. Ramsgate is in danger of loosing its last remaining museum collection to Deal or Chatham.
Thanet Council is consulting on possible uses for the building.
You have a chance to help save this building for public use as a town and maritime museum.

Jerry O'Donnel will save it, unlike RAMSGATE'S current councillors, he puts others before himself.. we need more selfless people like Jerry
Agreed. Jerry will add another 20 quid to the Council Tax for Ramsgate to payf for new officers to run the administration, and if there's any left he could put this towards running the museum. Am sure this will not be a problem for the people in the town.
Is that the same Gerry O'Donnell?
Annon 00:17.
I do not doubt Gerry's committment to Ramsgate. But the EKMT called the meeting at Albion House so Ramsgate people could have their say. He was not present at that meeting even though he had previuosly attended the meeting in Margate where he did not say a word. However David Green has attended all the meetings and has made a contribution to the debate to save the Maritime Museum.
At the Albion House meeting there was a good turnout of Ramsgate Labour councillors, they did not make a polictical issue out of it. They went there as Ramsgate Councillors representing Ramsgate with the intention of doing what they can to save the Maritime Museum . There were other Ramsgate faces there like Ralph Hoult. Tom Brown and Malcolm Kilcaldie. Everybody there was shoulder to shoulder to do what they can to save the museum.
So if they are so great, what have they come up with?
I'm afraid that Gerry O'Donnell may never be in a position to influence anything. (Remember he stood in Eastcliff two years ago and came forth in the election. Only Taylor has got elected on a Ramsgate first ticket, and he switched to Tory within days of being elected.)
The key to the Museums future in Ramsgate is the clock house. It makes no sense for it to be anywhere else.
What have we done? Our focus is still to persuade TDC Tories that Ramsgate residents want the status quo retained. We have collected a 1000 plus petition. We have campaigned in the town centre and will be out next Tuesday again.
Should anyone, Ramsgate First or local Tory, or anyone else wish to join us they are more than welcome.
Why save it? Its run by a bunch of losers, who could not run a p up in a brewery. Give the heritage to those who can, and stop wasting ratepayers money on a load of SH 1 T
Or put it in Albion House at the Ramsgate Town Council expense, where those who want the artifacts can still see them, to allow the clock house to be used for something that would really be really beneficial to Ramsgate, like a decent fish restaurant.
O'Donnell never put anyone or anything before himself. He is a sad 'Walter Mitty' who surrounds himswelf with local nutters who shout loud but like O'Donnell do nothing.
When the residents of ramsgate learn the truth they will make their feelings known, to him and others.
what a good idea, a decent fish place. like Bridlington. oh, sorry, this is inbred/inwardlooking Ramsgate. No wonder mr O'donnel has tried his luck here.
OK Anonymous 22/11 13.30, "Give the heritage to those who can"...
Who are they? It's one thing criticising the current organisation, but what's your alternative model?
Think Mr Odonell could be summed up by the old saying all mouth and no trousers.
I don't fancy my Council Tax paying a Trust that can't be arsed to produce accounts for the last 3 years.
Bring on the fishy!
Gerry O' Donnell is a good man who wants the best for Ramsgate.
