Eurokent Housing Estate?

There is going to be public consultation on the future of Eurokent, on the 22nd and 23rd April.
Eurokent is the largely underused business park adjacent to Westwood Cross.
You may wonder why the consultastion events are to be in Broadstairs for an area that is in Ramsgate? So do I. Perhaps Broadstairs is a more business friendly address?

The events will consider how Eurokent could be brought forward to provide a high quality sustainable development, with the right mix of employment, recreational, community, leisure, housing and retail land uses. Eurokent was the creation of the last Labour administration at Thanet Council and was part of the effort to bring jobs to Thanet. It has been sorely neglected by the current administration, which has led to the County Council intervening.
One thing to watch closely is the amount of land taken away from job creating activities to sell off for housing.

The workshop for community groups, which includes residents groups, voluntary groups, race/ethnic/faith groups, and local business organisations will take place on Tuesday 22 April in the Pierremont Hall, (the offices of Town Council) Broadstairs, CT10 1JX from 6:30pm.

Local residents will have a chance to give their views on the proposals at a workshop on Wednesday 23 April held at the same venue. East Kent Opportunities is promoting it by distributing a leaflet to approximately 5,000 local homes.More information on the proposals for Eurokent are available by visiting www.eurokent.org and the masterplan will go live on the site from 22 April.
